King Of Turf full of bite at Hong Kong meeting

Hong Kong galloper King Of Turf tried to bite another horse near the finish of a race at Sha Tin on Sunday, writes Jamie Searle in this week's My Opinion.
I read about the incident on the Hong Kong Jockey Club's website. Video coverage of the race shows King Of Turf turning his head and attempting to bite the neck of Splendid Sails. King Of Turf was bred in New Zealand.
Ascot Park trainer Jim Curran will this week apply to New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing to register a name for a five-year-old Diamond Dane gelding who won with authority at the Gore trials on Sunday.
The gelding unleashed a powerful sprint to win by two-lengths in a six-horse maiden heat.
"He's been highly-strung and was in a paddock for a year and a-half," Curran said.
I was pleased to see apprentice Joe Chong win on Black Sea at the trials. It won't be long before Joe kicks home his first winner on race day.
