In a victory for Queenstown's original music scene, Scott Kennedy has secured space on the Queenstown Winter Festival main stage to showcase local bands The Killer Seas, Holly Arrowsmith and Panther Claw, along with DJs Lil' Massive, Alias and Stubacca.

The Source Music Winter Fest Takeover DJs will hit the stage from 4.30 to 7.30pm tomorrow, and the bands at the same time on Saturday.

"The live original music scene is really growing in Queenstown, so it's really exciting to be able to show that to all the visitors here from around the country," Kennedy said.

Earnslaw Park's Downtown Day, complete with a drag race between some of Queenstown's most manly kicks off at noon, and the Jagermeister Silent Disco at 1876 starts at 9pm. Both events are free.
