A golden era of American music will be revisited in a show in Invercargill this week.
The homegrown show American Bandstand will feature the music of top rocking performers such as Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and the Comets, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Dion, Bobby Darin and Sonny and Cher.
Slipping into character will be a cast of top Southland entertainers, including vocal trio Lipstick, Dene Allen, Jason Schmidt, Gerry McSoriley, Simon Thompson, Scott Calvert, Aaron Ives and Peter Skerrett.
The show will be MCed by Craig "Dick Clark" Waddell.
Co-organiser Dene Allen says it will be an entertaining night with a delicious meal to accompany it.
American Bandstand is at the Corinthian Convention Centre at the Invercargill Workingmen's Club on Friday and Saturday nights.(IWMC).
