Internationally acclaimed pianist Stephen De Pledge will be performing in Wanaka this weekend.
De Pledge, who has performed in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Singapore, Japan, Australia and the United States, will feature works by Granados, Schumann, Liszt, Strauss, Anthony Ritchie, Prokofiev and Debussy in his recital tomorrow.
Wanaka Concert Society member Kate Lovell said "with such an international reputation, we are very fortunate to have him coming to Wanaka".
"Stephen De Pledge is one of the most exciting and versatile musicians of his generation."
He studied at the University of Auckland and then at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. His career was launched after winning the gold medal from Guildhall and the NFMS Young Concert Artists' Award.
De Pledge accompanied the Southern Sinfonia to an Orchestra Festival in Japan in October where he was hand selected, after a request by the Japanese government that the orchestra perform a concerto with a New Zealand soloist, to perform.
"The Japanese loved him and he received huge applause," Lovell said.
Tickets to the concert will be available from Gifted Design and door sales will also be sold.
