This week's Daytime Concert Series in Invercargill will feature tenor Benjamin Fifta Makisi – "the Polynesian Pavarotti" – in Viva Italia.
Makisi was the soloist at Sir Edmund Hillary's funeral, and has performed at concerts alongside Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Sir Howard Morrison.
He will be joined on stage by soprano Susan Boland, accompanist Alex Wiltshire, mezzo Elisha Fai-Hulton, and tenor Cameron Barclay in a celebration of music from Italy.
The 90-minute concert begins at 11am on Friday at the Civic Theatre.
Tickets start at $27 and include lunch with the artists, with discounts available for group and regular bookings.
