Invercargill has been included in the tour lineup to farewell three of the original four Wiggles.
The band announced last month that three of the original members – Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt and Greg Page – were leaving the band to take up backstage creative roles and a 2012 world tour would mark their last year of touring together.
New Zealand is included in that tour, and it was revealed yesterday that the group will perform at Invercargill's Civic Theatre on September 23.
At the end of the year, the purple, red and yellow skivvies will be handed to a new generation of performers. Blue Wiggle Anthony Field will continue onstage.
Among the hits southern audiences will get to hear are Hot Potato, Getting Strong, Rock A Bye Your Bear and Toot Toot Chugga Chugga.
The band would be joined onstage by Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and the Wiggly dancers.
Tickets for the Invercargill show are available from www.ticketdirect.co.nz.
