Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears: Southland thespians will be dusting off their Shakespeare anthologies this weekend when auditions are held for the annual Shakespeare in the Park production.
Presented as a double bill of tragedy and comedy, the festival in February will feature two abridged versions of Julius Caesar and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Venture Southland's creative projects manager Angela Newell will oversee the project. It will be directed by Hamish McGregor and Feidhlim Hall, with directing assistance from freelance director Patrick Davies, of Dunedin.
"The production, now in its 13th year, is a popular summertime event. As always, it requires a large group of dedicated cast and crew to make it happen." Actors, musicians and backstage crew with any level of experience are welcome to attend auditions.
Auditions will be held Sunday and Monday, at the Invercargill Musical Theatre rooms in Deveron St. For an audition pack and appointment time contact Anglea Newell on 211 1412 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
