Nightcaps gets some TV glitz
Nightcaps residents got a touch of television glitz and glam this morning as morning news show Breakfast arrived in town.
Weatherman Tamati Coffey, also known for his roles hosting New Zealand's Got Talent and What Now, is reading the nation's forecast live from the small Southland township this morning.
Schoolchildren and members of the community braved the early start to meet Mr Coffey and appear on nationwide television.
This is the presenter's last week on the Breakfast show before he takes a sabbatical to go to Europe with his partner, Tim Smith.
On Monday, Coffey took to social network Twitter to announce his excitement for his last week as Breakfast's weatherman.
''this week, my final week at breakfast, im doing one last weather road trip. TAMATI'S TAKE OFF TOUR!" he tweeted.
''One last jaunt around the country to hang with my peeps.''
After Nightcaps, Mr Coffey and the Breakfast crew will head North to Rotorua for his final appearance on Breakfast tomorrow.
