The trailer for the Southland-shot film The Weight of Elephants has been released ahead of its debut at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 9.
Several Invercargill pimary school children were extras and an Otautau house used as part of the set feature in the 1 minute, 34 second trailer.
The Weight of Elephants, by Dunedin native Daniel Borgman, is a co-venture between the New Zealand Film Commission and the Danish Film Institute and Film i Vast with support from the Invercargill City Council and Invercargill Licensing Trust, the Southern Institute of Technology and the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
More than $50,000 in funding from Southland went towards the movie.
