Come over to Gore, mate
Forbes back from TamworthBRIDGET RAILTON IN GORE
It's tough to come back to reality after almost two weeks' swanning around in the Australian sunshine - and Gore's young ambassador knows all about it.
2012 Young Ambassador Shanna Forbes returned from her 10-day stint in Tamworth during their country music festival recently where she was tasked with promoting Gore and districts to its sister city counterparts.
Shanna said it was a successful mission. She met a lot of new people, many of whom seemed interested in jumping the ditch for Gore's Gold Guitars.
She and husband Aidan Forbes, who accompanied her on the trip, may even end up hosting some of the potential international visitors in their Gore home during the Gold Guitar festival this June.
"I formed quite a few new friendships just from being there," she said.
"It was great meeting new people."
Shanna encourages all young people to consider entering this year's Young Ambassador competition.
"It's an awesome experience," she said.
