Film buffs will be spoilt for choice next month when the New Zealand International Film Festival arrives in Gore.

SBS St James Theatre manager Emma Carle said the festival, which would be shown at the theatre from August 14 to 25, would include about 20 films.

Gore was the only location in Southland hosting the festival, and this year's event would be used as a trial for future years, she said.

Programmes for the festival were being circulated around Invercargill today.

Tickets for the films could be purchased from the theatre at the time of showing, but tickets for the opening night event, which would include drinks and nibbles and screening of the film 20 Feet From Stardom, should be pre-purchased, she said.

Tickets for the opening night event were available from the theatre or through iticket.co.nz

The programme could also be found at nziff.co.nz/gore.
