Murihiku Polyfest art exhibition opens
Artworks on display for all to view
Anita Batt (pictured) admired the overall winning entry by James Hargest College junior campus called Over the Neighbours Fence is Me, at the official opening of the Murihiku Polyfest art exhibition last night.
Murihiku Maori and Pasifika Cultural trustee Lisa Tou-McNaughton said the event attracted a crowd of 200-plus, on par with previous events.
The work of each finalist, a total of 25 pieces of art, was on display for the opening night, she said.
The event included speeches, entertainment and a prizegiving.
The artworks are on display at the Southland Museum and Art Gallery and open to the public today until September 8.
Other entries into the competition are on show at the Invercargill Library.
