Wait finally over for film-makers
An invitation-only viewing of Southland-based film The Weight of Elephants was held at Reading Cinemas in Invercargill last night ahead of its nationwide release.
Cast, crew, investors and people who helped make the film happen gathered at the Kelvin Hotel last night before heading to Reading Cinemas.
Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt said he was proud and happy Southland and Invercargill had played a part in the production of the movie.
Director Daniel Borgman said there had been "so much" involvement and support from Southland. Last night's event was about sharing the film and celebrating everyone's hard work, he said.
The New Zealand general release date is today.
