It's time to dust off the old dancing shoes: the annual Musician's Hop is on once more.

An ''old time dance'' with John MacKenzie and friends, the Musician's Hop is an annual fixture in Gore that aims to raise money for charity.

Organiser Mr MacKenzie said this year they were collecting for the St John Ambulance service in Gore.

''It's a good cause and one that is very important to our community,'' he said.

A big drawcard for folk heading along would be when all the musicians, about 30 in total, will perform on stage at the same time, he said.

''All the musicians get up there for a big shindig.''

The Musician's Hop will be held at the Gore Town and Country Club Stadium on Friday from 8pm. Admission is $12 or $5 for students.
