Hundreds of pupils from around Invercargill and Bluff are warming up their vocal chords in preparation for the annual Sing Out next week.
The event, believed to be in its 70th year, will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Civic Theatre.
Assistant stage manager Pauline Scott said the performances, which would involve about 230 youngsters each night, were the result of months of work.
Schools involved will perform one or two solo pieces but there will also be massed choir songs.
This year's theme was Glee, so each of the songs performed would be from the hit show, Ms Scott said.
