Hundreds of students from around Invercargill and Bluff have been warming up their vocal chords in preparation for the annual Sing Out this week.
The event, believed to be in its 70th year, will be held tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Civic Theatre.
Mrs Scott said the performances, which would involve about 230 youngsters each night, were the result of months of work.
Schools involved would perform one or two solo pieces but there would also be massed choir songs.
This year's theme was Glee, so each of the songs performed would be from the hit show, she said.
