After a 30-year career in television as a producer, presenter and journalist, Rhys Jones has established himself as a dedicated motoring writer. Legends on 2 Wheels: A Celebraton of NZ's Greatest Motorcycle Riders is his third book.
For a small country, New Zealand has produced a disproportionate number of the world's top riders. More world championships have been won by Kiwi motorcyclists than by competitors in any other sport in this country, with nine riders winning 35 world championships.
As the title suggests, Legends on 2 Wheels celebrates New Zealand's greatest motorcycle riders. Brief biographies are given on such top Kiwi riders as Burt Munro (the world's fastest Southlander), Barry Briggs, Ivan Mauger, Graeme Crosby, Robert Holden, Aaron Slight, Josh Coppins, Katherine Prumm, and many others, as well as some interesting history and information on the various tracks they rode on and the bikes they rode.
Great photos, pictures and diagrams break up the text, making this book an even more interesting read. If you're a fan of the two-wheel sport, or just motorsport in general, this book should be in your collection. Start with your favourite rider and go from there ...
