Now here's what I like to see: a psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat in anticipation.

Nicci French is actually the pseudonym of Brit husband-and-wife thriller-writing team Nicci Gerrard and Sean French and I have to say, I suspect theirs is an interesting relationship, with them both having such dark and twisted minds (and I mean that in a good way).

The story kicks off with a distraught Bonnie Graham alone in a flat with the dead body of her lover, Hayden, murdered and lying in a pool of blood.

Bonnie enlists the help of her best friend to help move the body.

Then, as the pieces of the story begin to appear, the reader is left wondering: was hiding the body something an innocent woman would do?

As Bonnie struggles to keep up appearances while police investigate the disappearance of Hayden we learn more about their relationship, possible motives and potential enemies.

As the story goes on it becomes obvious that everyone's lying but the plot twists just keep coming.

I really enjoyed this one, it had more red herrings than a fishmonger and would be a perfect summer holiday read.
