Jessica, 9, and Blake Michelle, 5, of Milton, read books at the annual Invercargill Rotary Book Sale yesterday.
Invercargill Rotary Club member Richard King said the sale continued to grow each year.
About 25,000 books were on sale during the event, held at the Civic Theatre, with about $60,000 in revenue expected to be generated.
The money would be donated to charities, Mr King said.
Fiction was the most popular, with the sale a great opportunity for people to stock up on their winter reading, he said.
The sale finished at 4pm yesterday.
