Waikaia Museum and Bottle House hosted the third informal gathering of the Southland Heritage Forum Steering group.
Thirty people gathered at Switzer's town site on Sunday afternoon to "share ideas, successes and challenges, and also to find out what is going on in heritage in the district".
Heritage Steering Group chairwoman Rachael Egerton said the day was delightful and the group was thrilled with the turnout.
The steering group meets once every six months at a variety of heritage sights around Southland.
The next gathering would be at the Te Hikoi Museum in Riverton in six months.
The steering group was also in the process of becoming Heritage South Trust, she said.
Everyone was welcome to attend the gatherings, Ms Egerton said.
