It was the children who had the luck of the draw at the end of this year's Clutha Country Summer Series which wrapped up with the final event in Tapanui at the weekend.
Organiser Mitch McRae said it was another successful event with 32 participants taking part on what was on a "very hot" day.
All those who entered three of the four events in the series went in the draw to win three prizes donated by Findlaters Yamaha, Clutha Health First and the Wellness Programme.
Three names were drawn from about 35 adults and children, and the winners then got to pick their prizes.
Finbar Darwen, 9 of Balclutha, won first pick and chose a Haro BMX bike, Levin Coulter Butler, 12 of Milton, chose a Jamis mountain bike and Jenna Griffin, 8 also of Milton, received a 12 inch scooter. Levin who competed in the Lawrence, Tapanui and Milton primary duathlons won all three of the them. Other first place results from the events were:
Lawrence: secondary duathlon - Mike Jessop, individual triathlon - Tyler Ford, primary duathlon - Levin Coulter Butler, primary triathlon - Jack Murray, team triathlon - Shamazers, recreational walk - Peter Gilder, masters duathlon - Robyn Young, masters triathlon -Martin Ford, open duathlon - Rachel Blackburn, team duathlon - Frocklin Shots, individual triathlon - Dana Christiansen, recreational run - Fiona Darwin.
Tapanui: secondary duathlon - Mike Jessop, primary duathlon - Levin Coulter Butler, primary triathlon - Shea Darwin, team triathlon - Flying Dutchwomen, recreational walk - Peter Gilder, masters duathlon - Robyn Young, masters triathlon - Martin Ford, open duathlon - Nick McKenzie, individual triathlon - Kate Easterbrook.
