When it comes to beauty products, bigger isn't necessarily better.

Kiwi kids may have gone crazy for New World's minis, but we feel much the same way about pint-sized cosmetics.

And not only are they cute, they're practical too - for the handbag, the office desk or the in-flight carry-on.

Usually the only way to get your hands on shrunken-down versions of your favourite products is to buy gifts sets during major holidays (like Mother's Day), score a gift with purchase or subscribe to a sampling service such as GoodieBox.

But some of our favourite brands have recently cottoned on to our desire for dollhouse-sized skincare, haircare and makeup.

Here are three that have recently come on counter:

Antipodes Moisture Boost Minis (limited edition, available April 1), $19.90 for a set containing Divine Face Oil and Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream.

Sebastian 50ml shampoos, conditioners and styling products, all $12 each (available across several ranges, with nine new products just added).

Living Nature Skin Minis, three 30ml products (cleanser, toner and moisturiser) for $39.90.
