All you need to know about Kimye's wedding
RACHEL CLUN AND SARAH MACKENZIE
It might have been the most hyped-up wedding of the year, but not everyone wanted to be a part of Kimye circus.
Security officers had their work cut out trying to keep fans, who had waited for hours, away from the bride and groom Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and their guests.
With all eyes on the Renaissance Forte di Belvedere in Florence where the wedding took place on Saturday evening, there were some notable no-shows. Kim's younger brother Rob and step-brother Brody Jenner were nowhere to be seen, and the man who was rumoured to be Kanye's best man Jay Z and wife Beyonce were also missing from the revelry.
Rob Kardashian had been in Paris with his family for the pre-wedding celebrations and was to go to the wedding but instead flew to Los Angeles that day. It was reported he had a fight with his big sister; if you take gossip sites' word for it, she got angry because he hadn't made an effort to lose weight for the wedding.
After plenty of speculation about whether Jay Z and Beyonce would attend, rumours were laid to rest with Beyonce's Instagram. She posted a make-up-free selfie on the day of the wedding - clearly not ready to attend a lavish event - and later congratulated the couple.
"Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family," Beyonce wrote on the Instagram post of a photo of the West family from their Vogue shoot.
Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour was another high-profile guest to decline the invitation, citing a "long-standing family commitment".
The couple was seen holding hands in front of a giant wall of roses at their ceremony at Forte di Belvedere.
They both wore Givenchy while they exchanged vows in front of 600 guests, who included Will Smith's teenage son Jaden Smith and director Steve McQueen.
Kim opted for a long-sleeved, fitted lace number with a matching cathedral-length veil as she made her way down the aisle.

Despite heavy security, a few photos of the dress have leaked - it appeared to be covered in lace detail with sheer panels on the sleeves and back.
Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci revealed to E! News that the gown featured handmade lace work and "strategic sheer paneling."
Critics on social media suspect that the flattering look may have been inspired by the Alexander McQueen gown worn by Kate Middleton during the 2011 royal wedding.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's 11-month-old daughter, North West, reportedly wore a Givenchy haute couture outfit that matched her mother's.
Kris Jenner reportedly carried baby North down the aisle and E! Online reported the wedding party consisted of the bride's sisters and stepfather Bruce Jenner, who walked her down the aisle.
The stunning long-sleeved Givenchy number wasn't the the only dress that Kim rocked on her special day.
For the reception the bride wore a Balmain mini-dress custom-designed by creative director Olivier Rousteing. The designer, who also was responsible for the light blue dress Kardashian wore during a girls night out in Paris on Thursday, took to Instagram at the reception to post photos he took with the bride in a photo booth.
While the entire dress is not exposed, beaded detailing and a V-neck top can be seen.
Kardashian changed into a second dress for the lavish reception, where guests were serenaded by John Legend and Andrea Bocelli.
Guests ate food from the menu prepared by Galateo Ricevimenti; nibbles included monkfish, beef fillet and two desserts, including the reported seven-tier wedding cake.
The groom couldn't be kept away from the microphone and on his first opportunity gave an eight-minute speech that introduced his bride.
"I just wanna stop the music a second 'cos my baby's coming back with a new dress on. Here she is: Kim Kardashian West," he said, according to The Daily Mail.
Us Magazine reported she wore a beaded, custom-designed gown by Olivier Rousteing as her second dress for the day.
Later in the night, the Gold Digger rapper gave a 20-minute speech, calling his family and friends "warriors".
West also praised his new family as "the most remarkable people of our time", and said his wife was "the ideal celebrity ... the ideal art", according to Us Magazine.
And they lived happily ever after ...
With the festivities over, the various Kardashians, Jenners, Wests and friends started leaving Florence but not before posting farewell snaps.
Khloe Kardashian posted this picture, wearing what looked like a bridesmaid's dress while she looked over the city of Florence.
It was captioned "E vissero felici e contenti" in Italian, which translated to "and they lived happily ever after".
Kylie Jenner apparently liked the pose and posted her own version of the shot captioned simply with "goodbye".
Kris Jenner was seen at the airport with her granddaughter North so, while the family was heading off, it appeared the newlyweds might be going on their honeymoon alone.
