33-year-old Lisa and 42-year-old Dave met under rather unconventional circumstances - but credit where credit's due, Lisa saw someone she was interested in pursuing and made it happen.
We love the story of Dave's heart-melting proposal - even their beloved kitten was included in his romantic plans.
We'll let Lisa fill you in on all the details...
How did you meet? I first saw Dave on a Billboard! He and Jason Gunn hosted a radio show on Classic Hits. I decided to tune in to see if he sounded as nice as he looked - to my pleasant surprise Dave was single, and there were regular discussions on air about his bad luck with women.
Thinking I might be in with the slightest of chances, I sent the radio station a facebook message. I still cant believe I was so brave (and cheeky!) The show's producer received it, and gave Dave a bit of a nudge in my direction. A few months and many messages and texts later, we finally met for a real date on New Years eve 2010.
Tell us about the proposal: Dave proposed to me at home on my birthday with a tray of cupcakes he'd baked. They were iced with the words "Will You Marry Me", and our gorgeous kitten Fonzy was also part of the proposal, as Dave had put the stunning ring around his little collar. It was just perfect. I cried of course, and then we celebrated with bubbles.
Location of wedding: We chose Peppers Clearwater Resort for our Wedding. We had amazing views of the golf course and lake behind us for the ceremony, and the beautiful grounds and the Groynes picnic area for our photos.
Describe your wedding day: We wanted our wedding to be a really relaxed, fun day. Dave spent the morning golfing with the boys and I enjoyed some time at the salon with the girls, getting pampered with hair and makeup. Our ceremony was full of love and laughs, just the way we'd wanted. Our vows were both personal, cute and funny, and our reception was hilarious. Having two radio presenters give speeches was outstanding. Jason Gunn was our MC for the night and he did a wonderful job of entertaining our guests. The whole day was unreal and seeing as the weather in Christchurch is always so unpredictable, we felt so lucky that the day was stunning. All in all it was the day we'd always hoped for, it was perfectly 'us'.
The dress: Mum and I went on a shopping trip six months out from the wedding and ended up buying my dress in Hong Kong. We found an amazing tailor who had lots of sample dresses to show us, and it was hard to choose! In the end though, being the girly girl, I chose something sparkly. The tailor made to measure, and shipped over a few weeks later. I loved sharing that experience with my mum.
The flowers: My flowers were pretty pink and white roses to matchmine and my bridesmaids' dresses. Hornby Florists did a wonderful job.
Highlight of the wedding: The love and laughter that was shared between us, our families and our guests that day was amazing. It was just the most fun, romantic day.
Was there any drama? Absolutely no drama, all of our organising paid off and the day ran like clockwork.
The honeymoon: A week after our wedding we escaped for our honeymoon which included two nights in Singapore, a week in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and a week in Bali. Singapore was utterly beautiful, Ho Chi Minh was crazy manic and Bali was so incredibly relaxing. We had such a brilliant time.
Your photographer and favourite photo? Our photographer was Frank Visser Photography Ltd. Andrew shot our photos and he captured us so well. Frank was also incredibly helpful with getting our photos just right for the album. I don't think we can pick a favourite photo, we have several we love.
