South Island's best home award
A house in Queenstown has been named this year's best Southern home.
John Gavin Construction won five regional awards for its home in Queenstown including a gold award and Westpac New Homes over $2 million category as well as the Registered Master Builders Supreme Award for House of the Year. Judges said John Gavin Construction's winning home was a complex build boasting immaculate detailing on a grand scale.
Results were announced at the Ascot Park Hotel in Invercargill last night. Dunlop Builders Limited won the Southern Region Registered Master Builders Supreme Award for Renovation of the Year for a house in Wanaka.
There were 23 gold award winners from the Southern region, which will be assessed alongside gold winners from across the country to find the national gold reserve finalists. The finalists will be announced in September.
National category winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Auckland in November.
