5 great beauty buys for under $10
Ulta3 Matte Lipstick, $6.95: 90s-style matte lips are so on trend, but you don't have to buy a pricey brand to get on board. This little bargain comes in 10 velvety smooth shades. Ulta3 also make a lipstick in a moisturising version (satin finish) for a dollar less.
Maybelline New York Express Make Up Remover Eye & Lip, $6.99: Fancy brands like Lancome and Chanel are known for their ‘bi-phase formula’ removers (these contain both oil-based and water-based parts that need to be shaken together – the cocktail enables gentle removal of even long-wearing makeup). Get the goods for less than a tenner with this new dermatologist- and allergy-tested formula.
Schwarzkopf Moisture Gloss 10 Day Shine Mask, $9.99: I recently tried out this little gem and was shocked when I later checked the price. I'm a Kerastase fan, but this is definitely competitive. It smoothed out my thick, curly hair and made it go more beach-wavy than frizzy. It was also good when I blow-dried my hair straight, and did seem to add significant shine.
LA Colors Ombre Nail Kit, $8: You can score several brands of nail polish for around $10, but for nail art fans, why not get five polishes (plus a top coat), all handpicked to give you the ombre look. Or split up a couple of packs and use them for party favours (tween girl birthday, hen's do: perfect).
Nivea Pure Effect BB Cream, $9.89: Nivea invest a ton into skincare research, so you can trust their formulas for various skin issues. This tinted BB cream is made for oilier skin types and contains both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients. It provides moisture but leaves your face with a matte finish.
