What's that smell? Is it smoke because it sure is getting hot in here, right ladies? (Sorry, who can resist writing that, amiright?)
Yes, it's that time of the year again. By that we mean the New York Fire Department have put out out their annual calendar featuring lots of kitten saving, fire-putting-out man beef cake .... and one lady.
Yes, the first female firefighter to feature in the (one assumes according to that episode of Sex and the City where Samantha hooks up with the hot firefighter) hotly anticipated annual event has made her debut.
According to the New York Daily News, 11 year fire veteran Danae Mines - and her incredible biceps - stars in this year's calendar. She did it because she wants to be a role model to girls and women who might also want to be a bad ass.
"I wanted my picture in the calendar so that young girls and young women can see me and know that they can do this job."
Plus, Mines is the only one in the calendar wearing a shirt, so it's kind of nice to see men being the ones blatantly objectified (for a good cause, the proceeds from the calendar go to the FDNY Foundation for fire education).
