Good chocolate and good genes - that is the secret to longevity according to Parata rest home resident Amy Rutherford.

And she should know, she celebrated her 103rd birthday yesterday.

Rest home volunteer Nancy Aldridge said Mrs Rutherford had been visiting the on-site store every Saturday to pick up her regular supplies of chocolate, Minties and jelly beans, for as long as she had volunteered there.

Ms Aldridge arranged for her daughter Corrine Sinclair, a merchandiser from Cadbury, to personally deliver a goodie basket of chocolate on Monday in honour of the milestone birthday.
