Should you spend up large on organic rose oils or can you bag a bargain? We compare Estelle & Thild Rose Otto Facial Serum ($125) with Natio Ageless Organic Rosehip Oil ($25.50).
Estelle & Thild is a new-to-New Zealand range of eco-friendly organic products. Developed in Sweden by Pernilla Ronnberg, it's become cultish, with celebrities such as Penelope Cruz, Gwyneth Paltrow and Great Gatsby star Elizabeth Debicki among its followers.
Dermatologists, toxicologists and paediatricians (it has a baby skincare line) are aligned with it, and only high-
quality pure ingredients are used. The Rose Otto Facial Serum is absolutely loaded with skin-benefiting antioxidants including rose oil, blueberry and sacha inci, a rich source of omega 3, 6 and 9.
Natio's Ageless Organic Rosehip Oil is also nutrient-packed - full of ingredients like vitamin C to nourish, repair and moisturise the skin. Similar to the Rose Otto oil, it claims to aid the regeneration of skin cells and minimise the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation.
Verdict: We know it's five times the price but Estelle & Thild gets our vote. It's Ecocert-certified, gorgeous to use and has a huge cool factor.
