Most stylish men of 2013
DAVID GANDY: He's the world's most in demand male model and it seems the 33-year-old British looker has picked up a thing or two from working in the fashion biz. Whether it be a red-carpet worthy three-piece suit or a simple cardi and jeans combo, each outfit this fella puts on his back is tailored to perfection (a factor he places at the top of his style priority list according to an interview with GQ - oh handsome AND smart!) It seems the man also knows the value of accessories, often making a good outfit great by adding quirky glasses, impressive wrist ornamentation or coordinating his belt and shoes a la the casual get-up on the right.
IDRIS ELBA: It's been a big year for Elba, appearing at numerous high profile events around the world and every time he walked the carpet , he did it with panache. Let's face it - they man's megawatt smile is quite possibly the best accessory anyone could have, but his outfits aren't bad either. Only a chosen few can pull off a classic tailored suit with leather sneaks and a skinny tie - full marks.
ZACHARY LEVI: Ahhh Zachary Levi, otherwise known as the king of the three-piece. The 33-year-old Chuck actor has found something that suits him, and damn it works. Note the inclusion of the double-breasted beaut teamed with a classic bow tie on the right, just to show that he does indeed mix it up from time to time. Dude even has a signature pose - because well hey, why mess with a good thing.
TINIE TEMPAH: You may be getting sick of hearing Team L&S wax lyrical on this smooth dresser, but it's for good reason - I mean the guy doesn't just impress, he inspires. From the sharpest of suits at a music event, to a drool-worthy camel coat, printed shirt and white converse combo front row at Fashion Week the man sure knows how to put an outfit together. Oh and props to him for making those geek-chic glasses his style signature - nothing could top off these looks better.
EDDIE REDMAYNE: Though he's a relative newcomer to the glitzy world of Hollywood, this 31-year-old has years of impressive modelling experience under his belt, most notably stealing the show in a couple of high-profile Burberry campaigns including one with fellow It Brit Cara Delevingne. In 2012 Eddie landed a spot on the Vanity Fair International Best Dressed list, but we think this year has been even better. Seriously, the dude has mastered the art of layering, a skill so highly-valued in the fashion world you'll find a 'how-to' guide in basically every monthly glossy. We love the cardi under suit look that seems to be Eddie's fail-safe option - how cute in an old English country way does he look in that middle outfit?! Only the best for a Cambridge grad.
CHRIS PINE: Californian local Chris Pine has slowly but surely edged his way onto our style radar due to his ability to dress for every occasion. Yeah, yeah - most events we see him at require some kind of suit and it can't be that hard, right? Well, this guy is king of off-duty style which effectively makes him something of a rarity among the male variety. We love Pine's brand of casual cool, especially those red kicks front and centre.
BENJI MARSHALL: Turns out the man behind the flamboyant back plays and no look passes is actually a dab hand at putting super stylish looks together, and we love him for it. The 28-year-old doesn't make too many public appearances out of his trackie-daks, but when he does, he sure looks good. We'll let the photos do the talking on this one...
TOM HIDDLESTON: Suddenly it seems you can't go anywhere without hearing about this charming actor and it's no wonder when you check out the trio of impeccable suits above. And trust us, this is just the tip of the iceberg - the guy may wear a villainous cape onscreen, but off he oozes suave British style like no other. Our fave has to be that classic black tux moment - flawless.
DAVID BECKHAM: Yes, we're putting Mr Beckham on the list. And really, who could blame us? He continues to be one of the best dressed in the game year after year. The former English footballer went through some major changes this year, including playing the final game of his storied 20-year career and surprise, surprise - he looked incredible doing it all. Just promise us you'll never braid that hair again Becks, or we might just have to reneg this honour.
CHRIS HEMSWORTH: The middle Hemsworth brother (older than Miley's ex-beau Liam but younger than the third, more anonymous Hemsworth) may still be a soapie actor in our heart of hearts, but there's no doubt of his newfound Hollywood clout. He sure has come a long way from Summer Bay if those designer suits are anything to go by! We love the pale grey number in the middle, (it even makes that questionable ponytail look good) and think he's a fairly great representation of why you can never go wrong with black in the shot on the left.
