McLaren has finally revealed the eyewatering performance figures for its new supercar along with new photos ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva motor show next week.

McLaren claims the rear-wheel-drive P1 hybrid supercar will blast 0-100 kmh in "less than three seconds" while 0-200 kmh is "under seven seconds" and 0-300 kmh "will be achieved in no more than 17 seconds" which is 11 seconds faster than the company's legendary F1.

Although the P1's top speed will be electronically limited to 350 kmh, the acceleration figures put it among the fastest road cars around.

Only 375 P1's are to be built and they will cost £866,000 (NZ$1.58 million) on the road with a specification that fully equips it for both road and track use.
