He may be an Emmy winner but Queenstown mobile app developer Stu Sharpe still has to take out the rubbish every Monday night.
Catching up with the Mirror since his return from New York and the heady heights of the Emmy's last week, Sharpe said that while friends and family were thrilled for him, little else had changed.
"The kids weren't as excited to see me on TV as everyone else was."
In fact Mum Kirsty Sharpe was so excited and so busy ringing everyone she knew with the news last Wednesday that her son couldn't even get through to her.
Sharpe was part of the Animation Research team behind the official America's Cup app which won the sports Emmy for outstanding new approaches for sports event coverage category in the award.
The group collaborated on the app and Sharpe was keen to see more IT professionals in Queenstown work together.
"I'm sure there's other Queenstown people in the technology sector who are working away in Queenstown and we don't know who they are. If we collaborate more we can pull off more results like this," he said.
He encouraged others to make contact with the Queenstown Technology Group.
