A long involvement with local government and the Otago community has earned Dunedin man Colin Weatherall a Queen's Service Medal.
Weatherall receives his medal for services to the community.
He was the chairman of the Saddlehill Community Board for 12 years, and the Green Island/Saddle Hill ward councillor on the Dunedin City Council for 15 years.
His community involvement has also extended to the rugby paddock, both as a coach and administrator - he has been involved with the Ravensbourne and Brighton clubs for more than 30 years, was a member of the Otago Rugby Union's board of directors, and was chairman of the Highlanders Trust for several years.
