Rhythm and Alps locks in Bastille
Chart-toppers to headline Cardrona Valley gig
International chart-toppers Bastille will headline the two-day Rhythm and Alps, near Wanaka, at the end of the year.
Bastille will play to southern audiences on December 30 at the Cardrona Valley monster music festival, and will also headline Gisborne's long-running and immensely popular Rhythm and Vines - sister festival of its southern counterpart - playing a New Year's Eve set.
London-based Bastille have had a meteoric rise since their March 2013 debut album Bad Blood entered the No 1 spot in the British charts and achieved platinum status.
Bastille singer and chief song writer Dan Smith said it would be an honour to grace New Zealand stages for the first time as headliners at two of the biggest, most well-regarded festivals.
"We are massively excited about heading to New Zealand for the first time in our lives and that we get to come to do such fun festivals," he said.
Four thousand presale tickets will go online on Monday.
