Town's luck's in as Lotto sales return
'Locals have grabbed it with both hands'SHIRLEY WHYTE
Lotto players in Tuatapere no longer have to travel far for their ticket, after a Lotto outlet opened in the town this week.
The outlet is the first to open in the town for 19 years. The previous outlet, at the Tuatapere Service Station, was removed in 1995.
Tuatapere Four Square owners Lisa and Aaron Challis said they were thrilled to be able to offer the service in their store.
Overwhelming feedback, after the pair installed a suggestion box in the Four Square, was that customers wanted a Lotto outlet.
"We want to create a one-stop-service to the town and give the people of Tuatapere the same opportunities as a larger city market can offer its customers - we are always looking at ways to improve our store," Aaron said.
The Tuatapere Four Square Lotto outlet went live on Tuesday with nibbles and spot prizes in store to celebrate the occasion.
"We are really excited by the response of our Lotto - the locals have grabbed it with both hands and we have already seen some small collects by our customers," he said.
