The mystery judge for Rocking with the Stars 2014 has been revealed as Dancing with the Stars dancer Nerida Cortese.
Rock'n'Roll club president and event organiser Karl Herman said it was fantastic that she had agreed to be the celebrity guest judge for the event.
Karen Bellew emailed her contacts at Dancing with the Stars to find someone to take part, and Nerida responded back with a "yeah, great", Herman said.
"She's thoroughly looking forward to it."
Nerida Cortese and dancing partner (and now husband) Shane Cortese, of Shortland Street fame, were runners up in the 2005 Dancing with the Stars competition.
"I didn't hesitate when I was approached," Cortese said.
"What a great event for a worthwhile cause."
In 2011 the biennial event, organised by Hospice Southland and the Invercargill Rock'n'Roll club, raised $22,000 for hospice.
Now a mother of two, Cortese is still a professional dancer and teacher in Auckland.
Cortese will be accompanied on her journey south by her dance partner, Shae Mountain, and they will demonstrate three Latin dance routines at the event.
Although all tables had sold out, there was still plenty of general admission seating available for the June 28 event being held at Invercargill Licensing Trust Stadium Southland.
Tickets could be purchased from ILT Stadium Southland, Cue TV or Hospice Southland.
