A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with burglary after an incident at Centrepoint Liquorland, in Invercargill, on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, police are on the hunt for several thieves after a series of dishonesty offences:

• A farm on the Bluff Highway was accessed through the gate and some petrol was stolen on Wednesday night.

• A vacant house on Pomona St, Invercargill, has been targeted by thieves who appear to need home fittings of their own. Taps and brass fittings have been disappearing since mid-June.

Several quad bikes have also been stolen in the south:

• A TRX 420 red quad bike was taken from an Invercargill property on Tuesday night.

• Two green Kawasaki quad bikes have been taken from Lumsden during the past week.

Anyone with any information should call Invercargill police on 03 211 0400.
