Another fender bender in Frankton
Frankton's notorious Glenda Drive Ladies Mile intersection claimed the fenders of three more vehicles yesterday.
Two people were treated for minor injuries following a three-vehicle prang.
Police, fire and ambulance services responded to the 9.30am crash.
Constable Dan Andrews said it appeared a blue Subaru Legacy pulled out of the Glenda Drive intersection and was hit by a Frankton-bound utility truck. It was nudged across the road and struck another vehicle.
Andrews said the intersection was one of the worst in the area.
The junction is earmarked for change. The Eastern Access road, under construction, will connect the Remarkables Park end of Frankton with State Highway 6 and Glenda Drive running around the Shotover River end of the Queenstown Airport runway, easing the pressure on the gridlocked intersection.
