Earthrace to visit southern ports
Relevant offers
New Zealand's fastest and greenest powerboat, Earthrace, will be easing off the throttle and pull-ing into southern harbours this week.
The 24-metre, 100 per cent biofuel powered tri-hull achieved world-wide acclaim for smashing the 10-year world circumnavigation record by almost two weeks in June 2008.
Now, after casting off from New Zealand waters nearly three years ago, Earthrace has returned for a nationwide tour, welcoming the public on board for tours and to share tales of life on the high seas and mechanical failures.
Earthrace will be open for viewing between 10am and 6pm in Riverton today and tomorrow, Bluff on Saturday and Sunday and at Milford on May 16 and 17.
Access to the vessel is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children and $10 for a family.
The boat was in Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island yesterday.
