Topless bar gets mixed response

Neighbours of a soon-to-open Queenstown topless bar have mixed feelings about the new enterprise.
The Southland Times yesterday reported R-21 burlesque venue Rolla was rolling into the Church Lane premises previously occupied by gay establishment 12 Bar.
Owner Kelly Smith has promised a high-class show, with her six dancers performing "theatrical burlesque".
British Lolly Shop owner Alec Shotton said Rolla was unlikely to affect his business because they operated at different times of the day. "Anything to get that bar on the move is good. It's been flagging for a while.
"As long as it's not lewd there's no problem."
Flavours Deli Cafe owner Chris Surridge said she was not aware that Rolla would be an adult-only bar until Wednesday.
"I wasn't very happy when I heard that."
But she said she would reserve her judgment for now.
