Canadian singer Shania Twain's estranged husband is reported to have spent millions of dollars buying more prime land in Wakatipu's high country.
Twain and her music producer husband Robert "Mutt" Lange paid $21.4 million five years ago to buy Motatapu and Mt Soho Stations near Wanaka.
The marriage has since collapsed, but it is not known how the pair split their joint assets.
Lange's latest purchase is reportedly 8500ha of Glencoe Station, which has a capital value of $5.4 million and borders both Motatapu and Mt Soho stations.
Queenstown developer John Darby, whose trust retains 600ha freehold of the station, could not be reached by The Southland Times yesterday, but last week told Queenstown-based newspaper Mountain Scene the sale had gone unconditional after Overseas Investment Office approval.
Mr Darby paid $20 million for the entire station in 2004, but would not disclose what Langepaid for the Crown leasehold property.
