City leaders to consult on plan

City leaders will consult the community over a proposal for the Civic Theatre and Stadium Southland in Invercargill to be jointly managed.
Invercargill Deputy Mayor and community services committee chairman Neil Boniface said yesterday city leaders wanted to see the facilities properly used, maintained and funded.
If the community accepted the idea of joint management, the Civic Theatre would still be owned by ratepayers and the stadium would still be owned by the Charitable Trust, he said.
