Parked cars rammed off road

The owner of one of the three parked cars smashed into in Earnslaw Tce early yesterday is cursing the drunken behaviour of people in the area.
A 21-year-old American driver crashed into the cars about 4am, causing extensive damage to the rear of one vehicle, before driving off, Queenstown police said.
The man was later caught and charged with drink-driving and careless driving, police said.
Sergeant Kate Pirovano said the man, who works in Queenstown, recorded a breath alcohol level of 858mcg. He was apprehended by police on Frankton Rd, she said.
The owner of the badly damaged Toyota Corona, Jackie Smith, said she and her flatmate were woken up just before 4am by the sound of "a huge crash and smashing of glass".
She called police but by the time she made it outside the driver had managed to reverse his car and had driven away, she said.
With only third-party insurance, Ms Smith was unsure if she would be able to get any money back but said she would be taking the driver to court.
"I'm not going to get anything out of this ... no car for the winter," she said.
The crash was not the first time her car had been damaged in the area by drunken idiots, she said.
Last year two men fighting in her driveway had fallen on to the bonnet and smashed her car's windscreen, she said.
Yesterday the driver's damaged Ford Falcon, which has the writing "not from Gore" scrawled on the back window, was still parked in Frankton Rd.
