A 40-year-old Arrowtown man was pulled out of the Kawarau River just below the Kawarau Falls bridge yesterday afternoon after his jetski sank.
Acting Sergeant Phill Hamblin, of Queenstown, said the man was pulled out of the river by Queenstown tourism operators about 3.30pm.
"The man was spotted by a member of the public who called us," he said.
"A Kawarau Jet boat was able to pluck the man out of the water, and he's fine."
Both Mr Hamblin and Queenstown harbourmaster Marty Black said the swift actions of Kawarau Jet boat operators were to be commendded in the rescue.
