Three arrests near school
Suspected gang presence affects Aurora College
LATEST: Three males have been arrested for intimidation and threatening behaviour at Aurora College in south Invercargill this morning.
It is understood the college was originally placed in lockdown but has been reopened.
The three males were stopped by police at a bus stop on Tramway Rd, about 200m from the college.
One man who was wearing colours red and green claimed he was affiliated with the Mongrel Mob.
Police questioned four males at the bus stop, with the scene becoming tense when one teen, dressed in green and claiming to be of the "GDS'' (Gangstas Down South youth gang), became angry and jumped up when a Southland Times video camera was being pointed in his face.
A policeman pushed him back on to the bus stop seat and told him he was a "little boy''.
Police took the men away in police cars. They were still looking for two other men, whose identity was known to them.
