A Queenstown man was arrested and charged with wilful damage after swinging from a light fitting in a downtown bar, police said yesterday.
Sergeant Mark Gill, of Queenstown, said the 26-year-old man swung from a light in the smoking area at Cowboys bar in Searle Lane. The light was ripped from its fixture.
He is expected to appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old Queenstown woman was unhurt when her car crashed on State Highway 6 in Gibbston at 7pm on Tuesday.
She was driving from Cromwell to Queenstown when the car hit a bank, crossed the road and crashed through a fence into a deer farm paddock.
She told police she hit something but officers were continuing to investigate, Mr Gill said.
