Environment Southland will launch its proposed regional policy statement this afternoon.
The statement guides resource management in the region and will advise Invercargill City Council, Southland District Council and the Gore District Council when developing their district plans.
It contains methods and objectives to address the resource management issues identified, and includes measures to determine whether the objectives have been met.
The policy was publicly notified on Saturday, and the public will be able to make submissions on the statement until July 18.
