Smith wows crowd at Winterfest
Accoustic and blues set a hit with Queenstown pub crowdJOHN EDENS
Songstress Hollie Smith played the first gig of an acoustic South Island tour in Queenstown last night.
The singer, along with guitarist Tyson Smith played in a busy refurbished World Bar in Shotover St as part of the Winter Sounds gig, one of the musical highlights of the annual festival.
Christchurch group AHoriBuzz, Queenstown DJ Downtown Brown, reggae outfit Olmecha Supreme and DJ Sir-Vere completed the line-up.
Smith's acoustic tour includes a gig in Albert Town tonight and dates in Christchurch, Nelson and Takaka.
Smith's soul-inflected acoustic show and AHoriBuzz's set of mongrel blues rock went down a treat at the bar, one of the longest-running pubs and music venues in Queenstown.
