Candidates who want to stand for the vacant Invercargill City Council seat have until noon tomorrow.
Council electoral officer Graham Low this morning said Charlie Te Au, Carl Heenan and Hunter Andrews had put their names in the hat for the by-election.
The council seat became available with the resignation of Jackie Kruger.
Karen Arnold, Steve Broad, Roger Ngahooro and Allan Arnold have also told The Southland Times they intend to stand for the vacant seat.
The council by-election will be decided by postal vote, with the votes to be counted on August 29.
