Two Australian men visiting Queenstown for a holiday have been banned from all NZSki operations for two years after one was caught using the other man’s ski pass.

A 29-year-old Australian journalist was arrested at Coronet Peak ski area yesterday for fraudulent use of a ski pass after staff caught him using a day pass which belonged to his friend.

The man, who flies back to Australia today, appeared in the Queenstown District Court yesterday and received diversion.

Constable Craig Gibson, of Queenstown, said the man had to buy a day pass from NZSki.
